Introduction

The Government of Nepal on 10 January 2025 decided to establish its Consulate General Office in San Francisco. Subsequently, the Consulate General was established in San Francisco on July 1, 2025. The Consulate General has been assigned to cover the 11 States located in the western part of the United States of America, namely California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregan, Montana, Washington, Hawaii and Alaska.

Major functions of the Consulate General are:

  1. To provide passport and consular services to Nepali nationals.
  2. To explore and promote avenues of economic engagements; including in trade, investment, tourism, technology transfer, among others; between Nepal and the 11 States.
  3. To promote the interest of Nepal and welfare of Nepalis in the 11 States.
  4. To promote people-to-people relations between Nepal and the 11 States.
  5. To promote Nepal"s identity and enhance its dignity.

The Consulate General is making necessary arrangements for providing passport and consular services at the earliest.
